Why does the media and atheists love to make fun of Christianity and yet, you never hear a bad word agenst seekism,Buddhismm, hinduism and especially Islam? I so often hear people make fun of Jesus and its classed as “funny”, but yet nobody would dare to say somthing bad agenst, say Mohammadad or Guru Nanak. Dont be mislead this is not a **** speech agenst other religions or anyone, i love all people, i would just like your opinion on it?

It seems to be the only religion trying to invade our schools and our laws here in the USA
July 1st, 2009 at 11:57 am
IMO, it is the manifestation of their fear and insecurity.
July 3rd, 2009 at 5:45 am
It has something to do with that “Name”. (Jesus.)

Ewe should all weighs ewes spell Czech, sea, no miss stakes.
July 5th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
Because they’re an easy target. They get so wound up at the even mention of Jesus or anything related, that’s it’s hard not to make fun of them
July 8th, 2009 at 6:18 am
Most of America is Christian. Get over your persecution complex.
July 10th, 2009 at 4:44 am
Atheists are vile hypocrites. They will fall to the ground in tears if you say anything critical about BOOM Islam, but if you say something against our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ, they will give you a high five and a bonus check.
This is why I really detest the poison that they have injected into this society.
We are a nation built on solid ideals and beliefs, and we are being drug into the mud by atheists and liberals.
July 11th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Because, quite frankly, it’s pretty damn silly.
July 12th, 2009 at 1:53 am
It’s because no other religion has so violently tried to tell me that I am an evil heartless bastered who has no friends and will die alone and spend eternity in hell. That answer your question?
July 14th, 2009 at 3:07 am
spell check is your friend
July 15th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Mohammad was a pedophile. Are you happy?
July 18th, 2009 at 1:32 am
They’re all silly.
But only Christianity has the political power in the United States to attempt to have laws changed in their favor.
There’s no point in ridiculing the powerless.
July 20th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
You’re the majority. Therefore you get the **** taken out of you the most. And you obviously don’t watch South Park, who’ve taken the **** out of every religion they can get their hands on equally.
The fundie persecution complex still amuses me.
July 23rd, 2009 at 1:15 am
Oh geez get over it. Trust me, nobody is focusing all of their attention on Christians.
July 23rd, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Because, the Christian view of life is so entertaining and funny..i cannot help it, but to laugh
Muslims..that is a serious business and Buddhists are most peaceful followers of life philosophy..i agree with them on most of the points
July 25th, 2009 at 1:13 am
I think the blame lies in the hands of the media. The media DOES promote a negative view of Islam. The media DOES air stories about Christian cults (Waco, etc.). Can’t really say anything bad about Buddhist, though.
July 27th, 2009 at 11:15 am
The media is composed of primarily left wing atheists.
John 18
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me (Jesus) first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
July 27th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Because christians make statements like yours and ask questions like yours. The media makes fun of other religions all the time. They also frequently misrepresent other religions with absolutely no accountability or desire for factual accuracy.
You might try removing those rose colored glasses and tossing the persecution complex.
July 29th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
It’s because Christians are so uptight, they make good targets.
But also because we live in a society where Christians are the majority. Most of the people making fun of Christians were raised Christian, so they are making fun of their own background.
I was raised Christian and I hated it. I have a lot of anger about it, so I love to make fun of Christians. I don’t have anger toward other religions, because they weren’t shoved down my throat.

Follow this link- at first I didn’t understand it either, but after you see the things that are said by those who claim to be christian you’ll see why:
August 2nd, 2009 at 3:46 am
In the United States, Christianity is the most common religion and the most visible religion. So, the media here focuses most heavily on Christianity. If the media made fun of other religions, many Americans wouldn’t understand the joke, since they aren’t familiar with other religions.
Also, Christianity is easy to make fun of. There are so many extreme versions of Christianity, including people who interpret history only through a literal reading of Genesis and the Westboro Baptist Church. There’s all kinds of cults as well, like that one that had its children taken away. Why can’t Christianity protect itself from these people?

Look at the things many of you do that you try to justify . When you behave in a stupid irresponsible and often dangerous fashion expect ridicule . When you start behaving in a rational one maybe you can get respect .

Christianity is an easy target, because its a religion prone to claim exclusivity in public. Therefore, it is natural that Christians are especially prone to persecution and ridicule by people or people groups who disagree.
Here are some things to remember: Real Christianity tends to wear persecution well. Persecution prunes the church, and also adds church growth. As a Christian, one should expect and even welcome persecution. More people come to the Lord in hard times than during the easy times.

Drink! I, and others, have made fun of Mohammed. He’s a laughable figure in his own way. Far funnier than Jesus or Moses. And I love to call Muslems Mohammedans, as used to be traditional. They get very peeved! I find Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Moslems, Cthulhuans and FSM-ers equally ridiculous. And I will gladly make fun of Guru Nanak too, just for his name alone! Although I have no idea who he, she or it actually is or is claimed to be.
August 10th, 2009 at 3:36 am
Why does anyone make fun of anyone…?
Insecurity. If they were so sure they were right, they wouldn’t be so insecure to poke fun to make themselves feel better about their decision.
August 12th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
People in different places have said some things about Mohammed or those cartoons in Europe about Mohammed, and there has been a backlash, sometimes violent. Today, in America, I don’t think most Christians would get violent (I hope) if somebody said something against Christ or Christianity.
I don’t know who Guru Nanak is, so I don’t have an opinion.
Christians, like white Americans are a very big, and diverse group. Most white people aren’t as sensitive about stereotypical portrayals of whites, in fact we probably don’t even notice it, as African Americans, Hispanics, Jews or others do if they are portrayed in a negative way, usually because it is Whites who are writing or producing whatever it is. If somebody jokes about a White person, or even a group like the Irish, Germans, etc. nobody really pays much attention because it is such a big group and we are not oppressed.
The same is true with Christians. Numerically there are more Christians in America than any other group. Many are in name only, some are fanatics and probably are offended by things that are said. But it is such a diverse group it is hard to narrow down. And some groups like Catholics have historically had a lot of discrimination, but also a great sense of humor, and of course, though not Christian, in the same Judeo-Christian tradition, Jewish people have suffered discrimination, but also have a great sense of humor.
If people really are hateful toward anybody, it is bad. If any religion is made fun of, and I often hear and read people saying all kinds of untrue things about Muslims, especially since 9/11, I think it is wrong.
But I think many Christians follow “Turn the other cheek” when it comes to people knocking Christianity. All don’t, but many of us feel it is better to live a Christian life, which would not be fighting everybody who opposes us and praying for them and going on about our business.
But if the media makes fun of any religion, and by the media I mean the news, not SNL or Mad TV or something, it is wrong. Satire, while it can be insulting, is different, but there should be limits put on by producers, not the government or something like that.

I think that it’s because Christianity to an outsider looks a little crazy & can be quite humorous! for an example; I think that one of the strangest & craziest things I’ve ever seen was at church when the whole ministry was “speaking in tongues”, please imagine what people think when they see that! its hilarious!

Jesus, when He was alive, was mocked, spitted upon, and many other humiliating acts on Him before they finally crucified Him. Jesus said that the servant is not above the master. If the people have laughed at Him; they will laugh more at us. “You will be hated by all people for My name’s sake”. Jesus himself has said this. The fact that as you stated the atheists love to make fun of Christianity only and not on others shows that only Jesus is the Truth, and not others as named in your question.
August 17th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
Sweetness, your verb agreement reeks. Second, if you are in the US, you might notice that there are very few people in those religions compared to the massive majority who are Christian. I do not notice the media or the atheists I know often mocking Christians. When Christians do something ridiculous and make news, which with as many as there are is bound to happen from time to time, people laugh. When American Hindus make the news with something bizarre, like finding out a spiritual advisor to the president is a meth addict who screws male prostitutes, we will mock them too. When the Muslims make a “Creation Science” museum, we’ll yuk it up. So far, that has not happened. There is no bias.

Satan will try to fool people any way can it seems, because he chose the route of hell; & wants to take others down there w/ him!!!
Hurt people may blame God; but if you ask Jesus Christ to save you, then say “amen”; then stay close enough & long enough, you’ll see Jesus gives blessing in blessing & peace. Heb. 6. Gon’t give uop on God or God won’t be pleased w/ you; Heb. 10. There is worse than an unmerciful death for some.
Subconcience power seeker; Jesus quoted John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
World revolves around the risen sun; a type of illistration. It’s a power subject, a God would rise from the dead; so subonceincely it may make a person feel more powerful, like Lucifer; only in their imagination; Is. 14. But they will perish in the pit w/ everlasting fires forever & ever.

Perry is wrong and hysterical – liberals and atheists aren’t dragging countries down unlike right-wingers plus atheists aren’t hypocrites
Buddhism isn’t doing anything I think is bad unlike others which I will comment on
August 22nd, 2009 at 8:48 am
I know I actually feel very sorry for Christian when I see people mocking them. Its disgusting when people mock other faiths. Of course when those cartoons came out and that Satanic Verses book there was a huge backlash from not just Muslims but from our Christian friends too!
Why don’t YOU take the initiative. All religions are coming under attack more and more often. Make a society that unites religions so we can support each other when things like this happens.
Just know people DO feel for Christians.
